my computer wont connect to the internet

when i try to connect to internet explorer, it keeps coming up that there is a connection problem

Hi Leanne,

If your internet connection is not working, then the first thing you should try is to reset your browser proxies.
  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Click on "Tools" and then select "Internet Options".
  3. Click on the "Connections" tab and click the "LAN Settings" button at the bottom.
  4. Uncheck "Use a Proxy server for your LAN".
  5. Click OK to close the Local Area Network (LAN) Settings window.
  6. Click OK to close the Internet Options window.
You can also try the below steps and check:
  1. Click on Security Settings
  2. Click on Custom Level button
  3. Go right down all the settings, which is a fair way down the page, to Display Mixed Content.
  4. Click Enable
  5. Apply and OK
Finally, you can try deleting the cookies from your browser:

You can remove first-party and third-party cookie information and data from your devices.
  1. On your computer, open Google Chrome.
  2. In the top right, click the Menu Menu.
  3. Click Settings and then Show advanced settings.
  4. In the "Privacy" section, click Content settings.
  5. Under "Cookies," click All cookies and site data.
    • To delete all cookies, click Remove all.
    • To delete a specific cookie, hover over a site, then click the that appears to the right.

If it still doesn't work, Go to START ->Run and type "cmd" followed by the following commands in the Command Prompt:

ipconfig /release
ipconfig /all
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /renew


netsh int ip set dns
netsh winsock reset

If you would like to solve the issue, please consider the following solutions given below.

  • Run the Network Repair tool
  1. Click on Start.
  2. Select on Control Panel.
  3. Select on Network Connection.
  4. Right-click on the LAN or Internet connection you wish to repair.
  5. Click Repair from the drop-down menu.


 6. If you have been able to successfully repaired the connection message should show that the repair is completed.


  • Check your Internet Cable
Check your internet cable if it is properly connected, if it's not, try to connect it properly and restart your modem.
