The Simcity Societies game, like any other games also has its saved game files or files that contain the saved game state and these saved game files are what are known as SCS files. SimCity Societies is a computer game that allows players to create their very own city and it was developed by Electronic Arts, Inc. The game consists of settings and options that are available for players to choose for their cities and the city that players created in the game is saved in the SCS format. SCS files are necessary to save cities as well as share the saved game state to other players. There are two corresponding TGA files used when saving SCS files and though loading a saved game does not require TGA files, users cannot access a mini map preview without them. SCS files are mostly located in the directory. SCS files are game files necessary to keep the current state of the city that players’ created so that the next time they load it, they can access the game from where it was last saved.

EA Simcity Societies

EA Simcity Societies

EA Simcity Societies is a video game which focuses on the development of virtual social lives. This version of the SimCity is different from previous version of this game. This version lessens the implementation of the "City Planner Roles" but diverts focus on the social being of a City. The complexity was also reduced by the Tilted Mill Entertainment for the players to enjoy the game. The pipes and power grids, the evolution of the buildings, and the funding of the buildings were removed in this version. The previous adviser of the game was also replaced indicating the behavior of the citizens. There are six values of the society which will affect the city's attributes; such are the productivity, creativity, knowledge, prosperity, authority and most of all spirituality of the citizens. The game runs in Windows XP (SP2), and Window Vista with 1.7 GHz Processor (Intel), AMD XP 2100 or higher, at least 512 RAM, 128 MB graphics card, Direct 9.0c compatible sound card and version 9.0c (DirectX)

a word of warning

Be careful not to rename the extension on .scs files, or any other files. This will not change the file type. Only special conversion software can change a file from one file type to another.

what is a file extension?

A file extension is the set of three or four characters at the end of a filename; in this case, .scs. File extensions tell you what type of file it is, and tell Windows what programs can open it. Windows often associates a default program to each file extension, so that when you double-click the file, the program launches automatically. When that program is no longer on your PC, you can sometimes get an error when you try to open the associated file.
