Hi Mason,

Are you using the elite version? If yes, kindly switch/change your location (server). Not all places or locations are allowed in Counter Strike.

This could be the reason why you can't connect to it.

I hope this helps. Just let me know if you still have this problem.

Regards,

Ryan

Hi Mason,

If your VPN is not working for Counter Strike game, you can try the below points to see if it works for you.
  1. Try all VPN protocols - e.g. OpenVPN and PPTP with our client software, L2TP with our dialer or manual, UDP with our alternative client(s)
  2. Uninstall HMA Pro VPN client, (Since it is Windows, reinstall .NET Framework) reboot, reinstall both, reboot. Check again.
  3. Change your DNS settings manually to OpenDNS or GoogleDNS
  4. Visit Windows Update and install all available updates.
  5. Install the latest drivers for your hardware, especially for ethernet adapters.
If you are using a router for VPN, make sure that:
  1. you are using a wired setup network instead of wireless.
  2. put all network devices into the same IP subnet (e.g. 192.168.0.x)
  3. Try it once with setting all IPs manually (non-DHCP) and once with setting all IPs automatically (DHCP).
If you are facing issues with only Counter Strike connection and rest everything is working fine, follow the below steps to resolve the issue.

Step 1: The first step is to verify that your computer/device is properly connected using the VPN connection.
To do so, please browse to: http://geoip.hidemyass.com/ and verify if your IP/location has changed from the original one after connecting to the VPN.

Step 2: If the IP remained the same, or you want to appear as you are located somewhere else, please select a different server in the "Quick VPN Location" change on the Dashboard and once you are connected visit geoip.hidemyass.com again.

If you are connected to a VPN server but http://geoip.hidemyass.com/ still shows the original IP please follow these additional steps:

Step 3: Clear your cache and cookies or use incognito/private browsing in order to prevent other websites from reading your previous website visits and thus your original location.

Step 4: The final step is to disable all forms of location services of your computer/device which reveal your actual location.

Some services also check your computers timezone settings, here it makes sense to modify it accordingly to match the VPN servers location (e.g. US).

If it still doesn't work, make sure you are not using the elite version as all locations are not supported in Counter Strike game.

I hope this helps.

Regards,
Lokesh
