Hi Jagannath,

If you feel that the audio volume level has decreased recently, then you can follow the below mentioned methods to solve the problem.

Method 1: Change Windows audio settings
  1. Open Control Panel and go to “Hardware and Sound”.
  2. Under “Sound” click on “Manage Audio Devices”.
  3. Click on the “Recording” tab.
  4. Recording Tab in Audio Devices Screen in Windows 7
  5. Now you will see a list of recording devices. Try speaking into your microphone, and look for green bars rising while you speak.
  6. Indication by Green Bars Moving Windows 7
  7. If you have seen green bars rising while you spoke that means your microphone is properly configured.
  8. If you didn’t see any green bars while you spoke into the mic, follow the below steps.
  9. See if you can recognize which one of the devices in the list is your microphone. Perform the next instructions for that one. If that doesn’t work or you’re not sure which device is your microphone, perform the instructions for all the devices one by one.
  10. Click on the relevant device to highlight it, and then click on “Set Default”.
  11. Set Default Recording Device in Windows 7
  12. Double-click on the device and in the window that opens up click on the “Levels” tab.
  13. Drag the slider all the way to the right, until the number ‘100’ is displayed beside it. Click “OK”.
  14. Now check again if you see green bars rising when you talk into the microphone: if you do, your mic is now properly configured.
Method 2: Check your sound card
  1. To check this, select the ‘Search’ option, type 'Device Manager' and click ‘Settings’.
  2. Open Device Manager, double-click Sound, video and game controllers to expand that category.
  3. If a sound card is listed, you have one installed.
  4. Laptops and tablets do not usually have sound cards. Instead, they have integrated sound processors, which appear in the same category in Device Manager.
  5. See if it is working properly. If Device Status shows that the device is working correctly, the problem showing up is due to sound settings, the speakers, or the cables.
Device Manager workingMethod 3: Use a troubleshooter
Windows computers come with built in troubleshooters that can help you fix volume issues.
  1. Click on the "Start" bar. Click "Control Panel." On the control panel, click "Troubleshooting" and then "Hardware and Sound."
  2. From there, select the option "Troubleshoot audio playback."
  3. Your computer will ask you a series of questions that will help the troubleshooter determine the cause of your volume issue.
In most cases, a volume issue can be fixed using Windows built-in troubleshooter.

I hope this helps in solving the low volume issue on your machine.

Regards,
Lokesh
