.t File Extension

Developer: Holt Software
File type: Turing Source Code File
You're here because you have a file that has a file extension ending in .t. Files with the file extension .t can only be launched by certain applications. It's possible that .t files are data files rather than documents or media, which means they're not meant to be viewed at all.

what is a .t file?

T files are known as Turing Source Code Files developed by the Holt software and they are also called developer files that contain source codes wherein these source does are written in Turing programming language. Since T files contain source codes, they play a part in telling a program how to function. T files used by the TURING software are mainly used for teaching purposes and these files help educational institutions a lot. It is possible to edit T files as well as to compile and run them provided Turing software is used. Although it was HOLT software that first developed this file extension, it is now used by Pascal as ever since January 2002, Holt ceased its operations already. T files can also be associated with different applications like Terse programming language, Notepad, Tads Source Files, Timber, Paradox and a lot more. But T files used in Turing can only be opened using the Holt software Turing as well as they can be edited by any text editor available for Windows and MAC OS.

how to open a .t file?

Launch a .t file, or any other file on your PC, by double-clicking it. If your file associations are set up correctly, the application that's meant to open your .t file will open it. It's possible you may need to download or purchase the correct application. It's also possible that you have the correct application on your PC, but .t files aren't yet associated with it. In this case, when you try to open a .t file, you can tell Windows which application is the correct one for that file. From then on, opening a  .t file will open the correct application. Holt Software Turing

Holt Software Turing

Holt Software Turing (named after British computer scientist Alan Turing) is a structured programming language similar to Pascal that is used primarily as a teaching language for high school and college students. Turing, one of the easiest to learn computer language, has a precise machine-independent semantics and a clean syntax that is ideal for teaching computer concepts. It is available in the original version named “Classic Turing”, a systems programming variant called “Turing Plus”, and a version called Object-Oriented Turing. Ric Holt and James Cordy of the University of Toronto in Canada developed Holt Software Turing in 1982 for educational and commercial applications. The available license packages are Turing for PC, UNIX, and Mac and Object Oriented Turing for PC, UNIX, and Mac. It runs on DOS, Windows, RS6000, SGI and SUN in versions compatible with each platform. It became a freeware on November 28, 2007

a word of warning

Be careful not to rename the extension on .t files, or any other files. This will not change the file type. Only special conversion software can change a file from one file type to another.

what is a file extension?

A file extension is the set of three or four characters at the end of a filename; in this case, .t. File extensions tell you what type of file it is, and tell Windows what programs can open it. Windows often associates a default program to each file extension, so that when you double-click the file, the program launches automatically. When that program is no longer on your PC, you can sometimes get an error when you try to open the associated file.
